It was only six in the morning, and yet a dazzling sun was already shining high over New York City, announcing another bright sunny day. In a few minutes, the city would spring into life, and from that moment on the usual morning hush would start. The town would thus be rhythmed by the sound of klaxons echoing everywhere, filled with bottles of fresh milk waiting on doorsteps of houses with high neatly-manicured hedges, parents waving goodbye to their children through the window pane of the school bus, smart men in black suits hurrying down the streets, checking their watch, and the New York Sun, given to anyone crossing the fifth avenue...
September 11th. There was still a strong air of summer filling the city on that day. An innocent feeling of lightness that would fade away soon enough. Everything was there. From the bright blue cloudless sky with its blinding sun to the skyscrapers dominating their kingdom. From the high statue with her fist proudly raised skywards to the many yellow taxies zigzagging in the labyrinthine streets of the Big Apple.
It was a day like another, or so this is how it had begun... 8h45. What a nice day to destroy the World Trade Center.
